The Peninsula Oilers exploded for 10 runs in their season opener against the Anchorage Glacier pilots 10-8 on Wednesday at Mulcahy Stadium.
The Oilers and the Pilots were tied at the end of the first inning 2-2. Kenai added two runs in the second, two in the fifth and runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. In the ninth the Oilers added two more runs for the 10-8 win.
The Oilers face the Anchorage Bucs on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the second game of the season for the Peninsula Oilers in Anchorage.
The Peninsula Oilers first home game is scheduled for Tuesday June 20th against the Anchorage Bucs.
