A six inning, six strikeout starting pitching performance by Raymond Kerr needed some run support; as the Peninsula Oilers fell 3-0 to the ABL leading Mat-Su Miners on Monday at Herman Brothers Field in Palmer.
Kerr retired 14-straight batters into the sixth inning before allowing two runs in the sixth. Kerr also added two base hits in the Oilers eight-hit attack; the Oilers outhit the Miners 8 to 6. The Oilers left 11 runners on base. Final Score: Miners 3 – Oilers 0.
The Oilers and Miners close the road trip on Tuesday with a single game scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. start.
