The Peninsula Oilers pounded-out 10 runs on 14 hits for a 10-5 victory over the Alaska Baseball League leading Anchorage Bucs on Monday at Mulcahy Park.
Caleb Hicks led the hit parade with a pair of home runs and five RBI on the night; Thomas Ruddy added three hits and Josh Congdon drove in a pair of runs.
Hicks hit a two-run home run in the second inning and followed-up with a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Kellem Strahm circled the bases in the fifth with a single and a three-base error to score Strahm.
The Oilers lead 4-0 after four innings; 6-5 after six innings and add two in the eighth and two in the ninth.
Aaron Shoup goes four innings allowing four runs; Billy Clemens throws 1 1/3 allowing one run; and Michael LaBeau closes-out the final 3 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the save.
The Oilers face the Anchorage Glacier Pilots on Tuesday at Mulcahy Park in a 7:00 p.m. ABL contest.
