The Peninsula Oilers rallied in the late innings and recorded a three-run, 10th inning for a 10-7 comeback victory for the Oilers over the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks in Alaska Baseball League play on Thursday at Chugiak.
The Oilers tied the game in the ninth inning with a single run scored on a bases-loaded walk. The Oilers then scored three runs in the top of the tenth for the 10-7 victory. Kenai scored seven, unanswered runs in the final five innings.
The Oilers trailed 3-0 after the first inning and 7-3 after the fifth inning. Kenai scored one run in the seventh, one run in the eighth and the tying run in the ninth to force an extra inning which featured three Oilers runs.
For the game, the Oilers collected 10 runs on 12 hits and left 13 on base. Will O’Neil earns the win in relief for the Oilers and the Oilers improve to 3-4 in the ABL.
