Oilers Set For Doubleheader Monday Against Pilots Following Loss To Chinooks

The Peninsula Oilers will face the Anchorage Glacier Pilots in doubleheader Alaska Baseball League action on Monday, June 19th at Mulcahy Park, a change to the original published schedule.  Check your schedules for the game change.

Monday’s game time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. for game one of the doubleheader.

Both games are scheduled seven inning ABL contests.

 

Oilers 2 – Chinooks 5

The Peninsula Oilers suffered a second loss to the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks on Sunday, falling 5-2 to the Chinooks.  Chugiak scored a pair of runs in the  fourth inning for a 2-0 lead.  The Oilers tied the game at 2-2 in the fifth with three hits and a sacrifice bunt scoring Kellen Strahm and Nathan Webb.  The Chinooks answered with two runs in the sixth inning and a single run in the eighth.

Former SoHi baseball player Joey Becher started his first game for the Oilers going three and 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on six hits for a no-decision.
