Oilers Shut Out Bucs 4-0 In ABL Action

Four runs on only five hits and a strong pitching performance equaled a 4-0 victory over the Anchorage Bucs for the Peninsula Oilers in Alaska Baseball League action on Wednesday at Mulcahy Park.

 

Oilers 4 – Bucs 0

The Oilers opened the scoring on a double-steal, scoring Matt Acosta in the third inning for a 1-0 lead over the Bucs.  Jeremy Conant blasted a solo home run in the 4th inning and Thomas Ruddy drove in Matt Acosta in the fifth inning for a 3-0 Oilers lead.  Ruddy scored on a Ryan Smith RBI in the eighth for the 4-0 final score.

Raymond Kerr earned the win pitching five innings and recording five strikeouts and allowing no runs.

 

The Oilers face the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks on Thursday at Chugiak.  Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
