Oilers Shut Out By Chugiak-Eagle River After Out-Hitting Chinooks

Run production and allowing early inning runs still plague the Peninsula Oilers, as the Oilers drop a 6-0 decision to the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks on Saturday.

 

The Oilers opened a four-game series with the Chinooks allowing four runs in the first inning and a three-run, third inning.  The Oilers bats outhit the Chinooks eight to seven; however, the Chinooks used four extra-base hits to generate six runs.

 

The road series continues on Sunday with a 5:00 p.m. game against the Chinooks.  The Oilers and Chinooks will play a doubleheader on Monday with the first game set for 5:00 p.m.
