Oilers Surrender Six In 9th Inning For 8-1 Loss To Chinooks

The Peninsula Oilers fell 8-1 to the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks on Saturday night; allowing six runs in the top of the ninth inning , after two outs.

 

The Oilers managed a single run in the eighth inning to draw to within a run at 2-1 Chinooks.  Then the doors fell off for reliever Mason Corneliussen, allowing six runs on five hits including back-to-back-to-back triple, triple double.  All scored with two outs.

 

The Oilers and Chinooks meet in game three of the three-game series on Sunday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.

Sunday is CPH Family Day and Prostate Cancer Day with Free Admission and Free Hot Dogs.  Game time is schedule for 2:00 p.m.

 

The Oilers begin an extended road trip on July 5th with games in Anchorage and Mat-Su from the 5th through the 13th.  The ABL Scouts Showcase and ABL All-Star Game and Homer run Derby will be at Mulcahy Park July 14-16.

The Oilers next home series begins on July 18th against the Anchorage Bucs.
