Oilers Sweep The Pilots In Final Homestand

The Peninsula Oilers complete the sweep of the Anchorage Glacier Pilots 6-5 on Wednesday, July 31.

 

The Oilers’ Cole Wilson reached first on an error by 3b in the bottom of the fourth inning, RBI; Zac Farris advanced to third; Colin Robson scored, unearned. Zac Farris scored on a wild pitch. Oilers 2 – Pilots 0.

 

In the bottom of the fifth, Cole Dawson singled, RBI; Seth Wrightstone advanced to third; Bryce Wirthgen scored for the Oilers. Colin Robson grounded out to 2b, RBI; Cole Dawson advanced to third; Seth Wrightstone scored. Cole Dawson scored on a wild pitch. Oilers 5 – Pilots 0.

 

The Pilots in the top of the sixth, Luke Stulga reached first on an error by 3b, RBI; Dylan Marx scored, unearned. Oilers 5 – Pilots 1.

 

In the seventh Anchorage’s Marcus Sanders singled, RBI; Troy Sanders advanced to second; Owen Hayes scored. Dylan Marx doubled, 2 RBI; Marcus Sanders scored; Troy Sanders scored. Oilers 5 – Pilots 4.

 

Luke Stulga doubled an RBI in the top of the ninth for the Pilots; Marcus Sanders scored. Oilers 5 – Pilots 5.

 

In sudden death eveleth inning, the Pilots were posted a run on first base. However, quality pitching from Oilers Mose Hayes kept the Pilots run off the board, and the Oilers picked up their third sudden-death win of the season and credited the point to Zac Farris.

 

Final: Oilers 6 – Pilots 5.
