The Peninsula Oilers opened the Alaska Baseball League season with a 4-1 victory over the Alaska Goldpanners on Friday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.
Oilers pitcher David Diaz picked-up the win, going seven innings and allowing one run. The Oilers offense produced eight hits and four doubles.
Saturday night is a special Oilers tribute night with free admission to the game. Game time set for 7:00 p.m.
