There is only one day left to register for individual assistance from the disaster relief fund that was initiated last year when heavy flooding in the K-Beach area caused widespread damage to residents homes and properties.
We spoke to Jeremy Zidek with Homeland Security and Emergency Management explains.
Zidek: “Tomorrow will be the last day that they can register, it was extended for a week. The number of applicants that we thought we would receive in the Kenai Peninsula Borough, we kind of saw those numbers pan out and our estimates were met.
He went on to say you can apply by phone and online, and even if you aren’t sure if you should apply, do it regardless.
Zidek: “The deadline tomorrow will be 5:00 pm by telephone but they can also register online until midnight. So they can apply by telephone by calling 1-855-445-7131 or they can apply online at ready.alaska.gov/ia
