A single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning left one man dead and another injured after a sedan overturned and came to rest on railroad tracks near Mile 92.5 of the Seward Highway.

Anchorage Police Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting the crash at approximately 3:53 a.m. on May 31. Responding officers and emergency personnel located two adult males inside the overturned vehicle.

The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

All lanes of traffic—both northbound and southbound—were closed at the crash site as investigators with the Major Collision Investigation Unit processed the scene. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
