The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services announced 16 new resident cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. One of the cases is in Homer. The state’s cumulative case count is now 778.
Among the other cases, nine are in Anchorage, one in Bethel, one in Fairbanks, one in Girdwood, one from the combined Hoonah-Angoon Census Area and Yakutat Borough, one in Nome, and one in Palmer.
Alaska’s active case count is now 264. As the counts rise, today marks another new single-day high for active cases.
The state reports that 14 Alaskans are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, or are suspected of having it.
A total of 92,947 tests have been conducted, including 4,689 in the Kenai Peninsula.
These numbers reflect data from 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on June 22.
