One New Kenai Peninsula COVID-19 Case

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services announced 14 new resident cases of COVID-19 on Friday. One of the cases is in the Kenai Peninsula. The state’s cumulative case count is now 722.

 

Among the other cases, six are in the Municipality of Anchorage, one in the Bethel Census Area, two in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, one in the Haines Borough, two in the Mat-Su, and one in the North Slope Borough.

 

Alaska’s active case count is now 253. As the counts rise, Alaska remains in its “highest active case count” status. 46 of those active cases are on the Kenai Peninsula, a decrease of six cases from Thursday’s report.

 

The state reports that 18 Alaskans are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, or are suspected of having it.

 

A total of 83,631 tests have been conducted, including 4,415 in the Kenai Peninsula.

 

These numbers reflect data from 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on June 18 that posted on the Alaska Coronavirus Response Hub.
