On Thursday, December 10, representatives for the Kenai Spur Highway Rehabilitation and Beaver Loop Road construction projects will host an open house at the Kenai Visitor and Cultural Center.

Schmid: “The scope of work is effectively rehabing the travel lanes which are 12 foot wide, adding four foot shoulders and adding a pedestrian pathway within the 100 foot right of way.”
The Beaver Loop Road Improvements and Pedestrian Pathway Project is scheduled to begin construction in 2018 depending on funding.
The Kenai Spur Highway Rehabilitation Project will widen the roadway to five lanes from Sports Lake Road to Swires Road.
That project would have two phases: the first would work with $20 million already available for the project, finishing the design and beginning construction in 2017; the second phase would complete the project once additional funding is acquired.
The open house for the two projects will be held at the Kenai Visitor and Cultural Center from 5-7 pm on Thursday, December 10.
