Allie Ostrander, now competing at the collegiate level for Boise State University, will travel to North Wales with the US Junior Mountain Running Team to compete in the 31st World Mountain Running Championships, the championship races scheduled for Saturday, September 19th at Snowdonia, North Wales.
The international competition will highlight a week-long festival of activities with both junior and senior division races. Allie will join fellow Alaskan Levi Thomet (Kodiak) representing Team USA.
The junior course is a four-kilometer lap with an elevation change of about 820 feet.
Allie Ostrander is a six-time champion in the Junior Division of the Mount Marathon Race and runner-up in the women’s division to international mountain running champion Emelie Forsberg in 2015. The Mount Marathon has an elevation change of over 3,000 feet and runs about five kilometers.
Ostrander Wins First College Competition
Allie Ostrander, competing in her first college cross country competition, finished first overall in the women’s varsity division in a dual meet format at Golden Gate Park, winning the Dual in Speedway Meadow. Allie completed the course in 20:44.4.
