Allie Ostrander, representing Boise State University at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, stepped off the track at the two-mile mark of the women’s 5000M race on Friday unable to continue and received assistance from the BSU athletic training staff.

Ostrander entered the race with the second fastest seed time and was in the lead pack when she removed herself from the competition.  Team officials are doubtful that Allie Ostrander will compete in the women’s 3000M at the national indoor championships.  Notre Dame’s Molly Seidel won the race in 15:15.21, giving her the third-fastest time in NCAA history.
