Outfall Repairs At Wastewater Facility

The City of Soldotna plans to repair the wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) outfall off Porcupine Court (see map below).  Construction for this project will begin in April and continue until May 2024.

Southcentral Construction has been contracted to repair the damaged WWTF outfall pipe that transports treated wastewater to the Kenai River.

Some of the construction activities will include equipment on Porcupine Ct. and the removal and replacement of outfall line.

Project Area

The project area is off of Porcupine Court, within utility Right of Way (between 347 Porcupine Ct. and 351 Porcupine Ct.). The project area extends approximately 160 feet into the Kenai River.

Considering the project starts in April, residents may see construction vehicles in and around the area. A temporary ramp will cover construction water lines across Porcupine Ct. Construction activities will occur in the Right of Way and the Kenai River.

But don’t worry! There will be a Temporary inflatable dam around the construction area in the Kenai River, so as long as you drive vigilantly, all will be well!

The City of Soldotna would like to thank your community for their patience during this project.  And once again, please use caution when driving or boating near the construction site.

If you would like more information, you can contact the Utility Department at 907-262-4205.
