The Kenai Peninsula Borough announced on Wednesday that they have 470 small businesses, non-profit, and commercial fishing people set to be receiving the first round of KPB CARES Act Relief Fund checks, totaling approximately $6,116,250.

Their notice says that hard copy checks will be mailed to approved grantees on Monday, August 24.

For those who missed the first round, KPB advises against being discouraged, as they will be opening a second round. Their statement says they are currently determining those dates and KSRM will notify the community of the information as soon as it is made available.
