Palmer Claims Division II Baseball State Championship: Stars Drop 3rd Place Game

In a repeat of the Southcentral Conference tournament finale’, the Palmer Moose defeat the Kodiak Bears 7-3 in the ASAA Division II State Baseball Championship Game on Saturday at the Wasilla High School field.

 

The Soldotna Stars fell to North Pole 4-3 in the state tournament’s 3rd-place game on Saturday afternoon in an overtime contest.

 

SoHi 3 – North Pole 4  8-Innings  DII 3rd Place Game

The Patriots, #1 seed from Fairbanks, trailed the Soldotna Stars 3-0 after four innings and mounted a late rally including the winning run scored in the eighth inning of the scheduled seven inning 3rd Place game.  North Pole scored three runs in the fifth to even the game.

 

Palmer 7 – Kodiak 3  DII State Championship Game

Palmer built a 7-1 lead through four innings enroute to a 7-3 victory over Kodiak for the Division II state baseball championship.

Palmer’s Jason Gunderson pitched four innings for the win and Owen Hayes recorded a three-inning save.
