Pebble Awaits Decision on Second Hearing

There were two court hearings for the Pebble Limited Partnership Thursday.

As we previously reported, the first saw a federal judge again throw out the Pebble Ltd Partnership’s lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency, citing the suite is premature.

Mike Heatwole with the Partnership said the second was on what they call their FACA case…

Heatwole: “The alleged violations of The Federal Advisory Committee Act that the EPA colluded behind the scenes to officially stop the project and was not as open and transparent as they stated publicly.”

The judge is expected to rule on that case soon.

Despite the amounts of litigation the Partnership is and has experienced, Heatwole said there is still substantial interest to invest in the proposed mine.

Heatwole: “We do have very curious interest from several perspective partners, can’t get into who they are, but the main message is that there remains significant interest in the mineral wealth under the ground at pebble.”
