The Northern Lights Conference in high school basketball spotlights five of its six teams with a pair of three-game series at Soldotna and Kenai Central high schools.
Colony, Wasilla and Palmer, from the northern section of the NLC, will battle the Stars and Kardinals with games filling the weekly schedule.
The Nikiski Bulldogs will also host Southcentral Conference opponent Seward on Friday at Nikiski.

SoHi Girls 34 – Palmer 30 Overtime
SoHi girls outscored Palmer 5-1 in the overtime after a 29-29 tie in regulation. SoHi rallied from three down in the fourth quarter. Britney Blossom scored 10 for the Stars.
SoHi Boys 28 – Palmer 46
SoHi trailed 22-10 at the half . Wendall Tuisaula and Sam McElroy each scored six for SoHi.
Kenai Girls 36 – Wasilla 62
The Kardinals lead by a 14-point effort by Brook Satathite, fell to Wasilla 62-36.
Kenai Boys 42 – Wasilla 59
Kenai jumped out to an 11-0 lead and held a 22-10 lead at the end of the first quarter; however, Wasilla rallied for a 31-24 lead at the half and a 59-42 win. Josh Jackman lead Kenai with 15 points.
Nikiski Girls 68 – Seward 30
Bethany Carstens scored 38 points to lead the Bulldogs girls to a 68-30 victory over Seward in Southcentral Conference action.
Nikiski Boys 44 – Seward 52
Ian Johnson lead Nikiski with 22 points. The Bulldogs scored only six, 4th quarter points.

SoHi Girls 34 – Wasilla 75
The Stars were held to two points in fourth quarter. Aliann Schmidt lead the Stars with 12 points.
SoHi Boys 17 – Wasilla 48
The Stars scored only five field goals for the game and were held to one field goal in the second half.
Kenai Girls 12 – Colony 53
The Kenai girls were held to single baskets in each of the first three quarters. Brook Satathite scored half of the Kardinals points with six for the game.
Kenai Boys 44 – Colony 55
The Colony Knight gradually pulled away from Kenai; as the Knights lead by three after the first quarter, by four at the half, by nine after three, and finish with an 11-point lead. Josh Jackman lead the Kardinals with 12 points.
Wednesday Game Results
Colony Girls 53 – SoHi 24
The Colony girls, on the strength of a hounding man-to-man defense, opened an early 7-0 lead in the game’s first minute and lead 11-4 after one quarter; as the Knights overpowered the Stars 53-24. Alex Carlton lead the Knights with 20 points; Aliann and Danica Schmidt each scored six for the Stars.
Colony Boys 46 – SoHi 44
The Sodotna boys held Colony in check until the final two minutes in Wednesday’s NLC pairing; however the Knights rallied for a 46-44 victory over the Stars. The Stars and Knights were tied 42-42 with two minutes remaining; SoHi scored its last basket at the buzzer, but fell by two points. The game was tied at 17-17 after one quarter; SoHi lead 28-20 at the half and 36-34 after three quarters. Derek Evans lead the Stars with 11 points, all in the first half.
