The 2020 Peninsula Conference Basketball Championships, which will determine conference champions and state qualifiers to the ASAA 1A State Basketball Championships, begins four days of competition at Cook Inlet Academy with first-round games on Wednesday, March 4th in the CIA gym.
The Peninsula Conference tournament features a double-elimination format in both the girls and boys bracket with the tournament’s championship games scheduled for Friday night (March 6th) and the runner-up games, which will determine the second, state qualifier on Saturday afternoon (March 7th).
Peninsula Conference Girls Bracket
Opening round pairings begin with the #4 seed Ninilchik girls (4-6) face the #5 seed Lumen Christi (3-7) in the 3 p.m. game on Wednesday. Cook Inlet Academy (6-4) plays Kodiak ESSS (0-10) in the 6 p.m. contest.
The Nikolaevsk girls earn the #1 seed with a 10-0 record and receive a bye into Thursday’s round. Birchwood Academy (7-3) also receives a first-round bye with the #2 seed.

Opening round pairings begin with the #4 seed Birchwood Academy (5-5) facing host Cook Inlet Academy (2-8) in the 4:30 p.m. contest on Wednesday. The #3 Nikolaevsk boys (6-4) open against #6 Nanwalek (0-10) in the 7:30 game on Wednesday night.
The Lumen Christi boys earn the #1 seed with a 9-1 record and earn a bye into Thursday’s winner’s round. Ninilchik, #2 seed, also receives a bye into Thursday’s round.
