Peninsula Conference CIA Girls & Ninilchik Boys Finish In 2nd Place

The final round of games at the Peninsula Conference Basketball Tournament featured second place games on Saturday at Soldotna High School.

 

Girls 2nd Place Game:  Cook Inlet Academy 38 – Birchwood 27

Cook Inlet claims second place at the Peninsula Conference tournament with a 38-27 victory over Birchwood.

Leading by five after three quarters, the Eagles scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to pull away from Birchwood.  Tatum Rozak lead the Eagles with 16 points.

 

Boys 2nd Place Game:  Ninilchik 60 -Nikolaevsk 53

Attrition caught up to the Warriors in the second half of the boys second place game.  The teams battled to a 29-29 tie at the half.  Ninilchik used a 23-point, third quarter to build a 52-41 lead and in the fourth quarter fouls caught-up with the Warriors as Nikolaevsk finished with only three players on the court (Nikolaevsk only had five player on its roster).  Landon Colburn scored 25 points for the Wolverines: Justin Trail lead the Warriors with 20 points.
