Peninsula Conference soccer featured a full schedule on Tuesday with the Kenai Kardinals traveling to Homer and the Soldotna Stars hosting Nikiski in Peninsula Conference soccer pairings. Wind, rain and even hail in Homer made playing conditions difficult; however teams battle through in conference contests.
Kenai 0 – Homer 1
The Homer girls recorded a 1-0 conference victory with the game’s only goal, an own goal netted by the Kardinals. The goal came in the first half and both teams struggle to score in the second half.
Kenai Boys 6 – Homer 2
Zack Tuttle provided the offense for the Kardinals with a five-goal effort in a 6-2 Kenai victory. Leif Lofquist scored a single goal for Kenai. Both of Homer’s goals came in the second half.
SoHi Girls 7 – Nikiski 0
The Soldotna girls held Nikiski scoreless while scoring seven goals in Peninsula Conference action at SoHi on Tuesday.
Ryann Canava scored a pair of goals and Meijan Leaf, Faith Glasmaker,Haley Buckbee, Sierra Kuntz and Journey Miller added single goals for the Stars. Ella Stenga recorded the shutout in goal for the Stars.
SoHi Boys 13 – Nikiski 0
The Bulldogs were outmatched in Tuesday’s conference contest at SoHi, allowing 13 goals to the Stars in the Stars 13-0 win.
SoHi’s Luke Trammell and Josh Heiber both recorded three-goal, hat tricks to lead the scoring for the Stars. Single goals were scored by Eli Sheridan, Alex Montague, Cameron Johnson, Eli Wackler, John-Mark Pothast and Gavin Goggia. Chase Miller recorded a shutout in goal for Soldotna.
