All four peninsula football teams were scheduled to play in week four of the high school football regular season, the midway point to the 8-game regular season; however, cancellations again strike the schedule due to covid protocols.

The Seward vs Homer football contest, scheduled for Seward on Friday, September 3rd has been cancelled.
The Nikiski Bulldog home game against Barrow, scheduled for Saturday, September 4th has been cancelled.

The Kenai Kardinals varsity will face the Houston Hawks in the Valley on Friday in the only game off the Kenai Peninsula.

Week Four Football Preview
SoHi vs Service @ Soldotna High School
The Stars step out of Division II play on Friday night to host the Division I Service Cougars of Anchorage at Justin Maile Field at Soldotna High School.
SoHi’s vaunted running game, averaging over 300 yards per game, will be lead by sophomore Garhet Medcoff who has rushed for nearly 300 yards and scored four touchdowns in SoHi’s two games. The Stars stand at 1-1 on the season with a victory over Chugiak and a loss to Lathrop; Service owns a 1-2 record with a victory over Dimond and losses to East and West.

Kenai vs Houston @ Houston High School
The Kardinals take to the field for only the second time when Kenai travels to Houston on Friday to face the 2019 Division III state champion Houston Hawks.
The Kardinals season-opener was cancelled due to covid protocols; Kenai fell to North Pole 36-0 and Kenai had a bye in week three. The Houston Hawks have experienced extremes in the early season losing the 50-0 to Eagle River and defeating Nikiski 58-0.
The Hawks will celebrate Homecoming 2021 and 25th Annual Player Reunion on Friday night.
The JV game has been canceled for Friday.
