The three-day, round robin Peninsula Ice Challenge hockey tournament closed with a Saturday win for the Soldotna Stars over the Kenai Kardinals and a championship games between 2-0 Service and 2-0 Homer.
The Service Cougars finish 3-0 with a 6-0 shut out of the Homer Mariners to claim the 2015 Peninsula Ice Challenge.
The Soldotna Stars record a 9-1 victory on Saturday over the Kenai Kardinals behind a three-goal hat trick by SoHi’s Jace Urban. Cameron Knowlton added two SoHi goals and Matt Dougherty, Corey Hanson, Trevor Witthus and Cole Crandall score single goals. Levi Mese netted the Kards lone goal.
