Peninsula Oilers Begin ABL Title Run Thursday Against Anchorage Bucs

The postseason starts now!

 

The Peninsula Oilers (#4 seed), who’ve been jockeying for a spot in the 2019 Top of the World Series, get their first crack at the top-seeded Anchorage Bucs at 7 p.m. at Mulcahy Stadium in a best of three-game series.

 

Bucs vs Oilers series: (All games at Mulcahy Stadium)

Thursday: 7 p.m.

Friday: 7 p.m.

Saturday: (if necessary): 2 p.m.

 

Last time out: 

The Oilers and Bucs split a doubleheader on Sunday to end the regular season for both clubs. A 1-0 win for the Bucs in game one and an 8-7 win for the Oilers in game two closed the regular season at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.

 

Top of the World Series format:

The winner of the opening round Oilers-Bucs pairing faces the winner of the Mat-Su Miners (#2 seed) and the Anchorage Glacier Pilots (#3 seed) pairing in the championship round beginning on August 4th at the higher-seed home park.

 

Notable storylines:

The Oilers are 1-5 at Mulcahy Stadium against the Bucs this season. The Oilers lone win, came when Jake Adams was on the mound, (June 7). Adams is slated to start game one against the Bucs tonight.

 

The Miners host the Pilots tonight at 6 p.m. at Hermon Brothers Field in the other playoff series.
