The Peninsula Oilers drop an Alaska Baseball League contest 3-2 to the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks in 13 innings on Friday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park. The loss ends the Oilers three-game win streak.
Earlier in the day, the Peninsula Oilers players and coaching staff took part in the 15th Annual Frontier Community Services World Series event.

The Chinooks opened the scoring in the top of the third inning on a two-out RBI single, giving the Chinooks a 1-0 lead.
The Oilers struck for their two runs of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. An RBI groundout by Michael Yourg and a Paul Kunst RBI single, gave the Oilers a 2-1 lead after four innings.
The Chinooks tied the game in the top of the ninth on an Anthony Forte RBI single against Oilers closer Bret Ricklefs, his first blown save of the season, tying the game 2-2.
The Chinooks scored the game-winning run in the top of the 13th against Oilers reliever Austin Merrill, who was handed his second loss of the season.
The Peninsula Oilers recorded only three hits in 13 inning and were held without a hit from the fourth inning.
With the loss, the Oilers fall to 11-5, the Chinooks end a four-game losing streak, advancing to 6-9.
The Peninsula Oilers remain atop the Alaska Baseball League standings at 11-5; followed by the Mat-Su Miners at 8-7.
Oilers Continue Homestand Against Chinooks Through Weekend
The Oilers host the Chinooks in game four of the five-game series Saturday at 7 p.m. on Elks Flag Day, a free day of baseball at Coral Seymour Memorial Park. The Elks Lodge also presents a commemorative history of the American Flag beginning half an hour before first pitch.
The Oilers conclude the five-game series against the Chinooks on Sunday, another free game sponsored by Birch Ridge Community Church beginning at 2 p.m.
