Peninsula Oilers Open Homestand Saturday Against Miners

The Peninsula Oilers return to Coral Seymour Memorial Park on Saturday to open a 10-game homestand beginning with a five-game series against the Mat-Su Miners.

 

The Oilers face Mat-Su on Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.  Weekday games Monday thru Wednesday are scheduled for a 6 p.m. first pitch.

Currently, the Peninsula Oilers stand at 2-6 in the Alaska Baseball League and the Miners own a 5-5 ABL record.  The Oilers have struggled to score runs, have left double-digit men on base and have been shut out in twice in the last four games on the road.  Henry Noviki leads the Oilers offense hitting.333 with seven hits and four RBI.  Liam Rocha tops Oilers starting pitchers with a 1.39 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 13 innings.  Reliever Alec Weigel has recorded 7.2 innings without allowing an earned run.
