The Peninsula Oilers take game one of a doubleheader against the Anchorage Glacier Pilots 2-1 and drop game two 4-1 on Wednesday at Mulcahy Stadium.
The first game was a make-up game from a rain-out on June 11th.
With the split, the Pilots secured their first win of the season series against the Oilers, the Oilers remain three games behind the Mat-Su Miners for the top seed in the Alaska Baseball League.
Game One: Oilers 2- Pilots 1
The Oilers jumped-out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning when Grant Wood on an RBI ground out scored Ryan Koch, who lead off the inning with a triple.
The Pilots answered in the bottom of the third when Jordan Arruda scored tying the game 1-1.
The Oilers plated the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning on a Paul Kunst RBI double, which scored Grant Wood, and gave the Oilers a 2-1 lead.
Oilers starter Mike Lopez threw 4.1 innings in his first start against the Pilots, receiving a no-decision. Tre Brown recorded his first save of the season, closing the seventh inning.
Game Two: Pilots 4- Oilers 1
The Oilers opened the scoring in the first inning when Kunst scored on a Chad Bible sacrifice fly putting the Oilers in front 1-0.
The Pilots scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the third, on a pair of errors by Oilers third baseman Evan Berkey.
The Pilots added a run in the fourth and fifth innings against Oilers relievers Andrew Lopez and Bret Ricklefs to increase their lead 4-1.
Oilers starter Bryan Woo received his first loss against the Pilots throwing 2.2 innings in his sixth start of the season.
