The Peninsula Oilers fell one run short of the Mat-Su Miners in a 5-4 loss Saturday night at Coral Seymour Memorial Park. The Miners, at 19-10, jump to a four-game lead over the Oilers for the top seed in the Alaska Baseball League with the win.

The Miners scored the first pair of runs, one scored in the second and one in the third against Oilers starter Tevin Murray.
The Oilers scored their first run of the game on a Chad Bible solo home run in the bottom of the third, his first of the season cutting the Miners lead in half after three innings.
The Miners added runs in the fourth and fifth innings, wild pitches led to both runs.
Murray tossed five innings and struck out a season-high 10 batters, while receiving his fourth no-decision of the season.
The Oilers scored their second run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI base-on-balls by Zack Zalesky, cutting the Miners lead 4-2.
The Oilers pounced on multiple Miners relievers for a pair of runs to tie the score 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning. An RBI double by Ryan Novis scored Zalesky, then a passed ball scored Novis.
The Miners scored the game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning against Bret Ricklefs, after Danny Wright reached on a two-out fielding error by Oilers second baseman Grant Wood.
In the bottom of the inning, Wood, represented the game-winning run at the plate with Bryan Woo at first, grounded out to end the game, sealing the Miners 19th win of the season, the Oilers drop to 15-14.
Miners And Oilers Conclude Series On Sunday
The Miners and Oilers close out their five-game series on 2 p.m on Sunday, a free game of baseball on Central Peninsula Hospital Family Day and Prostate Cancer Awareness Day at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.
Free coca-cola and hot dogs are included with free admission.
Fans have the opportunity to purchase game worn white, red and blue Oilers jerseys for $150 dollars.
