Two Kenai Peninsula locals placed in the top ten in this year’s Iron Dog snowmachine race. Bradley Kishbaugh of Soldotna took fourth overall with his Team 6 partner Mike Morgan, and Chad Moore of Sterling placed seventh with his Team 19 teammate Shane Barber.

Teams faced harsh trail conditions in this year’s race as lack of snow created multiple stretches of bare ground covered in grass, dirt, rock, and bare tundra.

“Carnage this year, that was kind of the name of the game, man. We were one of those teams that showed up with one track between the two sleds,” said Kishbaugh’s race teammate, Mike Morgan, during Saturday night’s awards ceremony. “You can’t even put it into words. Just absolute dirt and frozen tundra for 80 miles, and it took a toll on all the teams, though, not just us.”

Bradley George and Robby Shachle of Team 20 took the 2025 crown with a final run time of 52:32:56.

Team 6 finished with a final run time of 56:29:01. Moore and Barber of Team 19 finished with a time of 61:08:38.
