The three-day, three venue Rally in the Valley softball tournament opened competition on Thursday with Soldotna, Kenai and Homer softball teams in action at different venues.
SoHi Softball
The Soldotna Stars, playing at Colony, opened with a 10-6 win over Hutchinson, fell to Thunder Mountain 9-1, and defeated Lathrop 6-3.
Kenai Softball
The Kardinal girls, playing at Redington High School, fell 11-3 to North Pole, rallied for a 12-2 win over Palmer, fell 6-3 to Kodiak and downed Redington 12-10.
