Each week throughout the high school sports 2015-16 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports/Subway Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.

 

For the week ending February 18th

Based on results from Kenai Peninsula Borough Nordic Ski Championships

 

Representing the Kenai Kardinals are Kardinal skiers Addison Gibson and Karl Danielson.  Addison won the girls combined time 6-K with a total time of 17 minutes and 17 seconds.  Karl posted the fastest 6-K combined for the boys at 15 minutes and 14 seconds.  Addison and the Kenai girls will battle for the Region III Nordic Skiing Championship this weekend in Valdez.

 

Selected for the Soldotna Stars are Mark-John Potash and Hannah Potash. The SoHi skiers posted the top time for Soldotna athletes at the Kenai Peninsula Borough Nordic Ski Championships; John-Mark finishing second overall and Hannah placing third.  John-Mark and the SoHi boys will vie for the Region III Nordic Skiing Championship this weekend in Valdez.

 

Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports/Subway Athletes of the Week.  Each selection will receive a Subway Value Meal from one of the area Subway stores.
