Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.

For the week of April 9th:

For the Kenai Kardinals is E-sports gamer Eliseso Castro
- Castro is a member of Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart KCHS Team.
For the Nikiski Bulldogs is track and field athlete Truit McCaughey
- McCaughey placed 2nd in Shotput at Big Cs and broke the school record at 49’4”.
For the Soldotna Stars is track and field athlete Tyce Escott
- Escott ran a personal best in the 100m at the Big C Relays, placing 5^th overall against almost every team in the state. Tyce also played an important role in three of our medley relays.

Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
