Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week ending August 22nd:
- Representing the Kenai Kardinals is cross country runner Greg Fallon
- Fallon took 1st Place @ Kenai Nikiski Trails Invite and 4th Place 16.28PR (field of 160) @ Ted McKenney Invite in Soldotna.
- Leading the pack for the Nikiski Bulldogs is cross country runner Shelby Burman
- Burman was the 13th small schools runner on Saturday.
- Selected for the Soldotna Stars is cross country runner Tania Boonstra
- Boonstra was the Runner-up finish at the Ted McKenney Cross Country Invitational in Soldotna.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week, each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
