Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week ending August 29th:
- Representing the Kenai Kardinals is swimmer Sierra Hershberger
- Hershberger took 1st Place in the 50 yard & 100 yard freestyle. 1st place 200 yard medley relay team 1st place 400 freestyle relay team @ Kenai Quad.
- Leading the pack for the Nikiski Bulldogs is volleyball player Abby White
- White stepped into a Varsity roll as a freshman and did an excellent job in the Shayna Pritchard Memorial Tournament.
- Selected for the Soldotna Stars is volleyball player Sarah Brown
- Brown led the weekend with 31 digs, 33 assists, and 7 Aces.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week, each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
