Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of December 3rd:
- Kenai Kardinals Athlete of the Week is wrestler Jadeyn Jacko.
- Jadeyn had a great performance during the Nikiski Duals on November 26th.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is wrestler Wyatt Maguire.
- On his senior night, Wyatt found himself down against a very talented freestyle state champion but fought back and got the pin for his team and home crowd one last time.
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is Nordic skier Ariana Cannava.
- Ariana has been a leader for the program the last couple of seasons and started the season off strong with a second-place finish at the Annual Turkey Skate last week.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
