Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week ending February 20th:
- Representing the Kenai Kardinals is basketball player Miles Metteer
- Metteer scored 11 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists, 5 steals, 3 blocks vs Homer on Feb 15th and on Feb 16th he scored 5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 5 blocks vs Seward.
- Leading the pack for the Nikiski Bulldogs is basketball player Seth Payne
- Payne stepped up his defensive intensity this week leading his team to some significant improvement while earning an all-tournament selection at the Ninilchik tournament.
- Selected for the Soldotna Stars is basketball player Andrew Pieh
- Pieh is a captain of the Boys’ Basketball team, who helped lead the team with two critical region wins over MCCA.
