Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of February 3rd:
- Kenai Kardinals Athlete of the Week is hockey player Avery Martin.
- Avery scored a goal and had an assist vs Homer on Senior Night, February 2nd.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is basketball player Madison Iyatunguk.
- Madi has become the Bulldogs’ best defensive player. She leads the team in deflections and steals and continued that defensive strength last week against Grace Christian.
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is hockey player Daniel Heath.
- Daniel had a great game Thursday night against Kenai and has been a constant force for the Stars hockey team all year.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
