Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of January 27th:
- Kenai Kardinals Athlete of the Week is basketball player Reid Titus.
- Reid made the All-Tournament Team at the Al Howard Shootout last weekend and won the 3-point competition for the second year in a row with a stunning 20 3’s in a 1-minute. He also averaged 17.6 points per game during the tournament.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is basketball player Ryder Maguire.
- During a weekend road trip to Barrow, Ryder showed toughness, positive team leadership, and a team-first mindset. Ryder gives his very best effort every day, believing in and working toward good things for his team and school.
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is cheerleader Jasmine Rettinger.
- Jasmine’s coach and school administration say she exemplifies positivity and teamwork while exceeding expectations every day.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
