Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of January 6th:
- Kenai Kardinals Athlete of the Week is XC Skier Isla Crouse.
- Isla took 2nd place at the Homer Skiathlon.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is basketball player Kevin Love.
- Kevin has committed himself to being a leader in practice and led the Bulldogs in scoring at the Mountain City Christian Academy Tournament.
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is basketball player Hope Hillyer.
- Hope has been a key piece to a great start to the season for the Lady Stars and is looking forward to having a great Senior season.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
