Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of March 4th:
- For the Kenai Kardinals the Athlete of the Week is basketball player Emma Beck
- Emma scored 33 points and nabbed 16 rebounds vs Seward in Kenai’s last regular game of the season
- Top Dawg for the Nikiski Bulldogs is basketball player Ryder Maguire
- Ryder has shown tremendous growth over the last week. Because of his consistently great attitude and awesome effort, he has now fully made the transition from JV to being a varsity contributor.
- Shining brightest for the Soldotna Stars is cheerleader Sonia Montague
- Sonia has improved so much throughout the season, and has been a great leader for all of the younger girls.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
