Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of May 14th:
- For the Kenai Kardinals is baseball player Gabe Joanis
- Joanis hit 6 for 7 during games vs Palmer and Grace.
- For the Nikiski Bulldogs, they submitted no names this week.
- For the Soldotna Stars is softball player Isabelle Cruz
- Cruz led the SoHi pitching staff this year and continues to log many innings for her team.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
