Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.

For the week of November 26th:

  • Kenai Kardinals Athlete of the Week is hockey play Avery Martin.
    • Avery scored 4 goals against Bartlett on Saturday and 2 goals against Soldotna during the End of the Road Shootout in Homer over the weekend.
  • Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is wrestler Brody Nelson.
    • Brody took second in last weekend’s tournament and has worked constantly to improve all year. He’s avenging losses and beginning to separate himself through hard work and fearless wrestling.
  • Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is hockey player Daniel Heath.
    • Daniel led the Stars in three games at the End of the Road Shootout tournament in Homer, scoring 10 goals and assisting 5 others.

Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
