Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week ending November 7th:
-
- Representing the Kenai Kardinals is volleyball player Emma Beck
-
- Beck was selected as the South Central Conference Most Valuable Player 2023.
-
- Leading the pack for the Nikiski Bulldogs is wrestler Rex Wittmer
- Wittmer wrestled a great tournament at ACS placing 3rd at 285 as a freshman. He is turning a lot of heads and people are shocked to hear that he is as young as he is. He had a dominating performance against a tough Barrow wrestler for 3rd place.
- Selected for the Soldotna Stars is volleyball player Nicole Dickinson
- Dickinson is a setter on the volleyball team. She led our team to a second place finish at the Northern Lights Championships, and earned a Division 1 State Birth.
- Representing the Kenai Kardinals is volleyball player Emma Beck
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week, each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
