Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of October 15th:
- Kenai Kardinals Athletes of the Week are the volleyball player Sophie Tapley.
- Sophie was the Offensive MVP at last weekend’s Grace Christian Lady Grizzly Invitational.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is volleyball player Abby White.
- Abby worked hard and played consistent defense all weekend, helping her team take 4th out of 18 teams at the Grace tournament.
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is swimmer Zoe Burns.
- Zoe had a great weekend, turning in a personal best time in the 200-yard Freestyle.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
