Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of October 1st:
- Kenai Kardinals Athletes of the Week are the football Offensive and Defensive Linemen.
- The offensive and defensive lines keyed the 63-0 win over Kodiak on Senior Night.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is volleyball player Avery Ellis.
- Avery is a great team leader. She helped her team place in the gold bracket and finish 5th out of 21 teams in both 4A and 3A at the West Spectacular last weekend.
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is football cheerleader Adelle Huhtagaard.
- Adella prioritizes her academics, has a great attitude, and gives it her all at every practice and performance.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
