Peninsula Sports Athletes Of The Week: Week of October 3rd

Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.

 

For the week ending October 3rd:

    • Representing the Kenai Kardinals is Volleyball player Jaycie Castillo
      • Castillo had 17 Digs vs Wasilla Championship Game @ West Spiketacular and 73 Digs throughout the West Spike Tournament.
    • Leading the pack for the Nikiski Bulldogs is football player Truit McCaughey
      • McCaughey was selected for his excellent play and leadership on the football field.  Last week he was named Co-Defensive Player of the year, first team All-Conference Linebacker and first team All-Conference Full Back.
    • Selected for the Soldotna Stars is cross country runner Noble Cassidy
      • Noble qualified as the lone boy for the Division 1 State Cross Country meet for SOHI.

 

Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week, each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
